Here's a picture of Emma from our 2004 Burning Man trip.
She hasn't been dressing up as one of the characters but became a great way
to get in on the fun. Emma's from England originally but has lived in the
United States for over 14 years. The freedom and artistry expressed by
the 35,000 folks at Burning Man is exactly the kind of freedom of character
that brought Emma to this country in the first place.
She lives in Jamestown, Colorado with her husband David and two boys,
Hayden and Henry. While Emma's been being a mom full time she's also
been practicing her art. The hardest part about describing her as an
artist is defining her art. She's an artist at heart, using all kinds
of mediums from the Mad Hatter's paper tape, ceramic tile, clay, glue, paint
etc. She's primarily a sculptor, finding her clearest expression in
the molding of form.

Emma is also a teacher of art. She pretty much helps whoever asks
(and there are many) to develop whatever mask, tile project or other fun.
She teaches classes in mask making to folks in the community and steps in to
help the kids at the local school.
Stay posted for more projects and ideas. She's got plenty. This
picture of Emma with her boys at Burning Man was provided by Jim Hair, a
great Burning Man photographer. His photos are at
